Department Description

The Enterprise Solutions Group/Partners Solutions Group (ESG/PSG) is an innovative organization and provides proactive partner development, sales, solution definition and implementation via strategic and Tier-1 hardware partnerships. PSG seeks candidates for Strategic Deployments where core competencies involve hands-on work around Oracle Database such as: Partner Solution Development; Executing Proof of Concepts; and Joint engagement Deliveries. This role offers and extraordinary chance to collaborate and implement Partner Technologies where customer solutions transcend both Oracle and that of Partners. Strategic deployment consultants are also responsible for defining the architecture for overall customer solutions and database administration services to configure and maintain large Oracle environments. These services include capacity planning and designing solutions to meet High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) requirements for clients. Talented individuals with strong Oracle product knowledge and willingness to learn partner technologies are encouraged to apply.

Detailed Description

Provide engagement delivery services both as an individual and as a team member. Has subject matter knowledge of relevant implementation responsibility. Possesses database, core applications and web technology knowledge. Has specific experience in implementing Oracle solutions and in systems integrations.

Job Requirements

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. A BS or BA in related fields. 3-6 years overall experience in functional or technical role. One year experience in multi-dimensional issue resolution. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Willing to travel regionally with some national travel.

Additional Details

Provide strategic and/or joint engagement delivery services both as an individual and as a team member. Willingness to learn and deliver new technologies (Oracle and Partner) on an ongoing basis. Ability to support and participate on project as a team. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) are required.

Job duties include deploying Oracle and/or Partner Technology solutions at customer sites. A BS/MS in related fields. 1-2 years overall experience in a computing or technical environment. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members, partners and clients. Willing to travel across the US and in some cases outside North America.

A candidate for this position should have familiarity with Oracle technologies as well as soft skills to work closely with Oracle and Partner Business Development Managers, Solution Architects and Customers. Able to work productively and confidently in an environment that involves multiple Tier-1 and strategic vendors. At times, support pre-sales activities alongside Oracle Business Development Managers. Job includes extensive travel, sometime upwards of 80%. Candidates can live anywhere in US as long as they can travel.

Installing/configuring Oracle or other Commercial relational databases.
Installing/configuring Oracle applications environments including Apache Web Server/Jserver and other components.

Database Administration.

Database Performance Monitoring/Tuning.
Environment cloning.
Upgrading Oracle databases to newer versions (10g, 11g).
Upgrading Oracle applications environments (e.g. 10.7 to 11i, 12i).
Knowledge of Server System Administration particularly Oracle Enterprise or Redhat Linux.
Willingness to learn and work with partner technology.
Installing partner technology components.
Communicate project status in a timely manner.
Accountability

- Deploy partner technology and solutions to perform server/database/application implementations as a part of joint engagements

- Elucidate, define, and deliver Proof of Concepts on Oracle Technology on Partner Resources.

- Document solution deliveries with partners via joint engagements.

- Proactively maintain knowledge of Oracle's current and future products and partner solution offerings
