Spanish for Professionals Certificate
The “University of Houston –Victoria, Spanish for Professionals” certificate is designed to accommodate busy professionals. Courses are offered face to face, and are available on the internet, as well as via an intensive immersion experience of study abroad in Mexico or Spain, a proven way to accomplish the required proficiency.
Professionals throughout the United States consistently report the need for Spanish communication with their clients. The program is designed to measure proficiency, and provide participants with field specific professional vocabulary and cultural orientation which is appropriate to their career. The outcome will include the ability to communicate with Spanish speaking clients at an intermediate level based on an oral proficiency interview scale.
After an initial assessment of your current level of Spanish, assistance will be provided to determine a program of study to meet individual needs, which will include twelve to fifteen semester hours from the courses listed below, followed by a proficiency interview or simulated proficiency interview.
